The Small Business Award recognizes SAME sustaining member firms that “achieve outstanding results in support of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, and Navy as well as company support for the professional development of its employees through participation in SAME education and activities.”
The award is presented to a small business that demonstrates:
- participation in SAME training opportunities and conferences
- support of small businesses in the industry
- successful completion of military projects
This award was celebrated at the 2021 SAME Small Business Conference for the A/E/C industry held in Georgia. Melissa Anderson, COO, was in attendance at the event to receive the award. “The trainings and conferences put on by SAME have provided insights to future contracts,” says Melissa. “The technical information and local project highlights, along with the forums to meet and create relationships with both small and large firms is a benefit to our company.”

Art Anderson has successfully supported Federal, State, and Local Governments for over sixty years. Starting as a naval architecture and marine engineering firm in support of projects at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA, the company has grown to include facilities engineering, construction management, transportation planning and marine research.
