“I Wish I Knew”: A Panel Discussion for Students and Colleagues with an Interest in the Engineering & Design Industry

We’re hosting a Panel Discussion Event on April 15th!

This event is designed specifically for high school and college students who are interested in engineering, design, STEM fields, or simply exploring potential career paths. Our goal is to provide students with real-world insight, answer their questions, and help them better understand what a career in engineering or design looks like.

Meet the Panelists

 

Sean HSean Hoynes, PE – Chief Engineer and Sr. Mechanical Engineer

Sean started as an intern in 1980, 40 years later he is now Chief Engineer. Sean has served in
essential project and program management roles, establishing skill and expertise that
complement his technical abilities.

 

 

Jeremy LJeremy Lowe – CAD Designer/Revit Specialist

Jeremy has diverse project experience involving military, healthcare, industrial, and residential
design. He is proficient in the utilization of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Google Sketch up and
Autodesk Navisworks. He has over 15 years of design experience specializing in Revit.

 

 

Madi LMadi Luchini, PE – Mechanical Engineer

Madi is a mechanical engineer and has worked on over 40 projects at Art Anderson since she
started in 2022. Her experience includes net weight, first principles, heat transfer and HVAC
calculations; and HVAC/Chiller System, black- and gray-water tank modeling.

 

 

Caroline KCaroline Kahwati – Naval Architect

Caroline is a recent graduate from University of Michigan with a BSE in Naval Architecture
and Marine Engineering, and a minor in Electrical Engineering. She works on the Marine
Team and be supporting projects focusing on vessel stability, structural analysis, and vessel
constructability.

 

What Students Can Expect

  • A moderated Q&A with professional engineers and CAD designers
  • Personal stories about education, early career choices, and industry experience
  • Discussion of what engineers really do day-to-day
  • Insights into emerging technologies and future career opportunities
  • Tips on skills, classes, and experiences that prepare students for STEM careers

Students will also have the opportunity to ask questions directly and learn about pathways such as internships, engineering majors, trade programs, and CAD-focused roles.
