(BREMERTON, WA, July 21, 2025) Art Anderson, a multidisciplinary engineering firm based in Bremerton, Washington, welcomes three new team members. With a total of seven new hires since the start of 2025, the firm is experiencing a period of steady growth as it expands to a staff of 40+ employees. These latest additions reflect Art Anderson’s ongoing commitment to expanding its capabilities and investing in top engineering talent.
Caroline Kahwati – Junior Naval Architect
Caroline Kahwati has been hired as a Junior Naval Architect. Kahwati will work in the firm’s Marine Team and be supporting projects focusing on vessel stability, structural analysis, and vessel constructability. Caroline is a recent graduate from University of Michigan with a BSE in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, and a minor in Electrical Engineering. She gained experience in engineering during her time at General Dynamics NASSCO and Newport News Shipbuilding working as an intern.
David Cardenas – Marine CAD Designer
David Cardenas joins Art Anderson as a Marine CAD Designer and will work with the firm’s Marine Team. He will be creating and modifying CAD models and architectural drawings in Revit, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks for a variety of project types. Cardenas brings 9 years of experience in CAD Design to the team. Most recently he served as CAD Designer 2 creating manufacturing drawings for Kratos Defense in Arlington, Texas.
Derek Patterson – Electrical Engineer
Derek Patterson is stepping into the role of Electrical Engineer for our Architectural & Design (A&E) Team. Holding degrees in Engineering Physics and Electrical Engineering from CA State Polytechnic University and Biola University, Derek brings a strong academic foundation. His valuable experience in aerospace, electronics, and hardware design engineering will be a significant asset.
