HULL 094 stability analysis

BREMERTON, WA

A collard vessel, who’s mission is to ferry personnel and act as a dive boat, required a stability analysis. Our Marine team was provided the 3D model, initial centers of gravity and 4 loading conditions of the vessel to perform the analysis. We created General Hydro Statics (GHS) models and evaluated the stability, our team also conducted an air incline assessment. Collard vessels must meet “swamping” criteria (when wave water comes into a boat). The vessel was unique in shape and made standard criteria irrelevant. We were able to verify that the vessel would meet CFR minimums and our team proceeded to coordinated with the US Coast Guard to get the vessel approved.
