Art Anderson conducted an air incline assessment (suspending a boat with cranes to both determine the weight and take measurements to determine various center of gravities) on a 40ft boat. The boat had a unique large sail area that was a factor in determining the stability. After all measurements were taken, our team processed the data and evaluated the criteria of the boat. It was challenging to capture the free surfaces movement in a realistic manner. Art Anderson optimized the calculations and was able to verify that the boat would pass the registration process. Once the final report was completed, the client submitted the stamped stability calculations to the US Coast Guard for registration. The boat was approved and registered.
