# PORT OF BREMERTON MARINA EXPANSION

Art Anderson provided full design for a new 1,400-foot long, 8,400-long-ton floating breakwater system as part of the larger Bremerton Marina expansion project. The breakwater design is based on a 3-D dynamic floating body analysis and physical model research and testing which was done in collaboration with Coast & Harbor Engineering Utilities and Oregon State University’s O.H. Hinsdale Wave research Laboratory. A wave/wake study was conducted to optimize harbor protection for the specific site characteristics and its exposure to the unique wave and wake conditions caused by its location immediately adjacent to the Bremerton ferry terminal. Art Anderson also provided full design services for the entire marina expansion project, which added approximately 300 new slips , provided major improvements to adjacent ferry terminal facilities, and developed new access and moorage for the museum ship, former naval destroyer, USS Turner Joy.
